Living healthy and getting back into climbing stronger

I’ve been climbing in the gym today! Great to be climbing again after such a long time!!! It was really good to feel that I’m stronger in my shoulders and core. I’ve been training my antagonist muscle groups, and it feels good. Also I’ve been (trying to) eat healthy and lose some weight. I’m keeping…

The Show Off 2013

So, I got invited for the Show Off 2013. The Show Off is a funny competition whereby three Dutchies climb against 2 top climbers. This year Juliane Wurm and Jan Hojer were the guests. The goal was to climb a (not too difficult) route in which you really have to show off everything you’ve got.…

Outside my usual boundaries

Saturday: Clear Creek Canyon Saturday was a big day, because we found ourselves a new home in Manitou Springs, a very fun little town next to Colorado Springs. We are going to live at the foot of Pikes Peak in a cozy little house. Awesome!  Our day couldn’t start any better and happily we drove…

SCS 2012 Open National Championships

With a little bit delay, Pascal and I finally moved to the USA, Colorado! We are five days into a new life, a new continent, a new climbing gym with new rules, climbing holds and people. Despite being extremely busy finding a new house, car and getting administrative things arranged, we were still able to…

Lead 1

Yesterday I climbed my first ever lead competition. The competition was held at Mountain Network Nieuwegein and is the first out of three competitions in to qualify for the National Championships. We had to climb two routes flash in order to qualify for the final on-sight route. It didn’t go as I had expected. The first route started…
